Hi! Welcome to Pebble and Fern Market Garden.

Pebble and Fern is an unlikely (and somewhat unexpected) Market Garden located on the small island of Petit de Grat, Nova Scotia – two islands off the coast of Cape Breton.  Pretty much in the Atlantic Ocean, really. We grow organic and heirloom vegetables by hand for the Isle Madame Public Market and for our Farm Stand here at the gardens.

When you visit our little piece of the web you will find: a wild and crazy vegetable garden, a lot of fibre crafts, a little bit of natural food preservation and some of the other home-type things that happen in our little piece of domestic recklessness.

You will also find bits of metalwork and ornament-type art in the mix. Oh, and we can’t forget the endless home renovation projects that come from trying to restore a charming old “fixer-upper”. Seems to be a busy place for sure!

Please do feel free to come up and tour our gardens or to shop for some homegrown produce if you ever happen to be up this way!
